DAMNED STATEMENT

Statement

My extensive portfolio is inspired by living abroad; juxtaposing abstract imagery with a retro style rooted in comic fandom. All this pinned on a painterly expanse with a wink and a nod to old school punk rock. My work will give you flashbacks of late nights listening to angry music shrieking from your speakers while submerged in a pile of graphic novels. (Black nail polish and Bazooka Joe gum not included.) DAMNED has allowed me a venue to pursue the artwork I desire to create and display (and sometimes sell.) This is as much an event as an art show and attracts like-minded individuals to mingle and meet in a less stagnant venue, surrounded by artwork that tip toes on a razor’s edge and alternative performers are scheduled throughout the nights to provide another visual/aural feast for the attendees. “The Masquerade” is a culmination of the 3 nights, whipped to a fetish frenzy and accompanied by a delicious dinner/dance soiree-a la petite morte. I have met so many friends over the years I have submitted and attended DAMNED. It has and will be my favorite time of year; with the coming of the killing frost also arrives the legions of the DAMNED.
